John L. Schilling Jr.

John L. Schilling Jr, 91, of Mt. Penn passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center . He was the husband of Elizabeth M. (Burkhart) Schilling who passed away 5/13/2010. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late John L. and Esther (Weidner) Schilling. John was a member of St. Lukes Evangelical Lutheran Church, a former member and district governor of Reading Ambucs, a former board member and former president of the Reading Chapter of Easter Seals as well as the Reading Chapter MDA. John was a graduate of Reading High School as well as a graduate of East Stroudsburg University where he received a bachelors degree in Heath Education and was self employed as a general contractor. John is survived by three sons: John L., III husband of Nadzia of Harrisburg, Michael G. husband of Lori of Reading and Daniel C. husband of Michelle of Blandon; four daughters: Ann T. Schilling of Mt. Penn, Marcia B. Schilling of Red Hill, Christine M. wife of James Flamm of Exeter Township and Julie K. Henry of Mt. Penn. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and one brother Robert Schilling of Perkasie, Pa. He was pre deceased by nine sisters: Magdalena, Beatrice, Emmeline, Gretna, Marguerite, Edna, Esther, Dorcas and Joanne. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Sunday evening, May 1, 2016 from 7:00 pm 9:00 pm with services to be held on Monday May 2, at 10:30 am in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave Mt.
