Philip L. Cleres, 87, of Spring Township, loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the widower of Marian K. (Calm) Cleres who passed away April 3, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Philip and Helen (Ruth) Cleres and a step-son of the late Adrienne Cleres. Philip was a very devoted member of Faith Lutheran Church, Mount Penn, where he served on the church council, various committees, and was a member of the choir. Philip served on the board of ARC of Reading, Festival of Faith, was a member of the West Lawn Senior Citizens and a volunteer for the West Lawn Library. He was employed by Willson Safety Products, Baldwin Hardware and lastly Western Electric/AT&T in Reading until his retirement. Philip is survived by: two daughters, Diane L. Cleres of West Lawn and Sharon A. wife of James P. Hogan of Burke, VA; three grandchildren: Matthew husband of Kristyn, Kelly and David. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Joseph Cleres. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 210 N. 25th Street, Reading, PA 19606. Please bring written memories and/or photos with descriptions to add to the Memory Book which will be displayed at the service.
