Eleanor Majka

Eleanor V. Majka, 91, formerly of Exeter Township, passed away Friday May 26 in Sacred Heart Villa-Muhlenberg Township. She was the widow of Frank P. Majka who passed away July 7, 2006. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Helen (Okonski) Niedrowski-Walatkiewicz. Eleanor was a graduate of St. Mary's School and was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. She was employed in the quality control department of AT&T where she retired from. Eleanor is survived by one son, Ronald Majka husband of Terry; four daughters, Constance wife of Michael Uland, Maureen Majka, Helene wife of Al Lepore and Sharon wife of Scott Landis; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Kevin, Eric, Michael, Justin, Christopher, Katie, Jennifer and Patrick; seven great-grandchildren, Sarah, Alison, Samantha, Olivia, Portia, Everly and Landon. Eleanor is pre deceased by her great-grandson, Ethan James Marriott on January 12, 2017, as well as her half siblings, Helen, Rose and Matthew Walatkiewicz and Antoni, Stanley, John, Veronika, Frank, Edmund and Genevieve Niedrowski. She was also pre-deceased by her dog, Mandy. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12:00 noon in St. Mary's R.C.C., 250 S. 12th Street, Reading, PA 19602. Entombment in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum- Laureldale.
