John D. Deysher Jr.

July 19, 1926 — January 9, 2018

John D. Deysher, Jr., 91, of Shillington, passed away Tuesday January 9, 2018, in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Virginia M. (Herb) Deysher who passed on October 28, 2005. Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late John H. Sr. and Elizabeth (Delp) Deysher. John was a graduate of Mt. Penn High School and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mohnton. He was also a member of the U.S. Army Artillery, Division 307 Field Artillery Battery A where he was a Sergeant serving in Germany. John worked in the Core Room at Rockwell International for 29 years until his retirement in 1988. He loved wood working, making wooden animals and silhouettes as well as repairing his home. John is survived by three daughters, Linda M. widow of the late Michael Miller of Portsmouth, VA, Beverly Ann Deysher of Mohnton and Jane Patricia wife of Robert C. Nocera of Mohnton. Also surviving are four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and one sister Sarah, widow of Walter Ritter. He was predeceased by one son John D. III. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday January 15, 2018, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with services beginning at 10:00 am in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading. Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1 Front Plaza, Mohnton, Pa 19540.
