Dr. Robert A. Deach, 92, of Exeter Township, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the husband of Jane E. Kauffman-Deach. He was pre-deceased by his first wife, Virginia E. (Woerle) Deach who passed away in 1965 and his daughter, Andrea Zebert. Born in Freeland, PA, he was a son of the late Alfred and Mary (Mattie) Deach. Dr. Deach was a graduate of of Albright College with a B.S. degree and a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine. He served in the United States Navy from 1954-1956 as a physician in Washington D.C. Dr. Deach was a past member of the Mount Penn Rotary Club and Flying Dutchman Ski Club. Dr. Deach loved skiing, tennis, flying his Cessna airplane and traveling the world. Dr. Deach was a general practitioner for 45 years and was still making house calls long after many physicians had stopped. He was proud to have taken care of several generations of families. Dr. Deach served as a school doctor for the Antietam School District for many years. In addition to his wife, Dr. Deach is survived by two sons, Stephen Deach, husband of Karen of California and Jeffrey Deach of Stony Creek; two daughters, Barbara, wife of Fred Wittich of Mount Penn and Susan, widow of Donald Nelson of Virginia and son-in-law Steven Zebert, widower of Andrea, of West Chester; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Wittich, Danielle Deach, Zachary, Nathaniel and Emily Nelson, Christopher and Michael Zebert; one great-grandson, Brayden Wittich.
