Richard D. "Dick" McCoy ,87 ,of West Lawn, passed away Thursday, September 7th, 2017 in ManorCare Laureldale. He was the husband of Marion Boulanger-McCoy. Born in Berks County he was a son of the late Daniel McCoy and Deborah McCoy Hartline. Richard was a graduate of Mount Penn High School and attended the Wyomissing Polytechnical Institute and he was also a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was an avid golfer, loved birds hiking, walking, skiing and sailing. After graduating from high school he played in a baseball and bowling league. Dick worked as a tool and die maker for Birdsboro Steel in Reading and then for Western Electric for many years and retired under Lucent Technologies. In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by one son, Keith R. McCoy of Wernersville and two daughters, Colleen J. wife of Dennis Oliviero of Wyomissing and Kelli L. wife of Michael Sheidy of Schuylkill Haven; seven grandchildren, Renee, Kyle P. Tara, Jennifer, Nicole, Ryan and Alexandra and four great-grandchildren, Penelope, Thomas, Aislinn, Sabryn one step-son, Joseph P. husband of Sharon Boulanger of Reinholds and two step-daughters, Lisa M. wife of Brian Kopcik of Bernville and Deborah Ann Gentry of Wyomissing; nine step-grandchildren, Kyle, Brianna, Nicole, Morgan, Reed, Jennifer, Richard, Thomas and Lauren and two brothers, Eugene E. McCoy of Lewes, DE and Terrence H. McCoy of Birdsboro. He was pre-deceased by his daughter, Sherrilynn K. McCoy and his sister, Sylvia L. Leinbach.Daniel McCoy - Father, Deborah McCoy - Mother . A visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 13 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with services beginning at 10:30 am at the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606. Interment will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 37 S. 5th Street, Reading, PA 19602 or any charity of your choice.
