Betty A. (Dypa) Renkus

Betty A. (Dypa) Renkus, 94, of Lower Alsace Twp., passed away Monday, October 16, 2017, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading. She was the wife of the late Benedict W. Renkus who passsed on August 19, 1991. Born in Brooklyn NY, she was a daughter of the late Michal and Weronika (Sczepanek) Dypa. Betty was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., Exeter Twp. Betty helped her mother run Mom Dypa's Grocery Store in Lower Alsace Twp., was a cook at Mt. Penn-Lower Alsace School District and lastly a cook at St. Catharine's of Siena R.C.C. Convent. Betty was survived by one son Benedict M. Renkus husband of Richard L. Spangler of Reading and one daughter Veronica A. wife of Edward J. Smith of Bern Twp. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday October 23, 2017 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 am in the St. Catharine of Siena Chapel, 2427 Perkiomen Ave., Mt. Penn. Interment will be held at Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum, Chapel of Resurrection in Laureldale.
