Obituary for Jeannine Wilfert (Ramsey)

Jeannine P. Wilfert, 89, of Pennside, passed away, Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in her home. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Stanley J. and Pauline (Grief) Ramsey. She was preceded in death by her husband the late Warren P. Wilfert, Jr. Jeannine is survived by one son Mark and wife Diane of NJ; two daughters Jennifer Duerr and husband Glenn of NC, Su Lively and husband David of VA; ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister Kathy Ramsey; one brother George; and many foster children, including Jeanne Hoffman, still living at home. Jeannine was a member of Berean Baptist Church. Jeannine graduated from Reading High School and the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a private duty nurse before staying home to raise her family and many foster children. Jeannine was founder and operator of Potential Unlimited, Inc., a non-profit organization for individuals with disabilities. Plans for a graveside service are to be determined by family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Reading Public Museum, 500 Museum Rd., Reading, PA 19611. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. Mount Penn is in charge of arrangements.
