Obituary

Thaddeus A. "Ted" Malecki, Jr., 83, of Exeter Township, passed away on Tuesday April 20, 2021, in Reading Hospital Medical Center after a courageous and brave battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Gwendolyn E. (Weiser) Malecki. He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara A. (Patton) Malecki in 1992. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Thaddeus and Josephina (Edlinski) Malecki. Ted was a graduate of Reading High School Class of 1955 and was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. He was a lifetime member of the East Ends Athletic Club and was also a member of and played Santa for the Polish American Historical Association at the Goggle Works. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Ted was a beloved mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 36 years, retiring in 1998.

In addition to his wife, Ted is survived by two daughters, Michele M. wife of Lee Yochum of Lower Alsace Township and
Denise M. wife of Richard Smith of Exeter Township; six grandchildren, Jadzu’s Angels: Heather, Brittney, Ashlee, Emily,
Kelsey and his favorite golf caddy Zachary. Two great-grandchildren, Maia and Weston. One brother, Thomas husband of Mary Malecki of Mount Penn and one sister, Joanne widow of Robert Garrett of Orlando, FL.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday April 23, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 11:00 a.m. in St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C.--Exeter Township 4975 Boyertown Pike Reading, PA 19606. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. Memorial Fund, 2427 Perkiomen Ave. Reading, Pennsylvania 19606.
