Betty J. Payne (Labe)

Betty J. (Labe) Payne, 91, of Douglassville, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, in Keystone Villa - Douglassville. She was the wife of the late William C. Payne, who passed away November 27, 2001. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Walter C. and Anna S. (Ludwig) Labe. Betty graduated from Reading High School, class of 1948 and was a member of Zion Spies Lutheran Church. Betty was employed by AT&T for 29 years until her retirement.

Betty is survived by her children; Carl W. Payne, husband of Michele, Curt A, Payne, husband of Margaret, and Eric S. Payne, husband of Robin. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by her brother, Walter H. Labe.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Zion Spies Lutheran Church 310 Spies Church Rd Reading, PA 19606. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zion Spies Lutheran Church. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
