My Aunt Josie will be missed by all the Brozene cousins. Aunt Josie lived her faith by her deeds of sharing her love with so many.m. My mother's family was traumatized during the great depression by not only starvation and working in coal mines but also by many other unspeakable crimes. All of my uncles including Aunt Josie's husband served in World War 2. Three landed on Normandy, at least one fought in the Pacific. They all came home traumatized, but we did not recognize PTSD then for the soldiers and sailors who fought the good war. When the family faced trauma, Aunt Josie was there sharing hugs and pasta. Aunt Josie loved Uncle George every day they were married. Whenever we cousins went to visit Aunt Josie, we were smothered with hugs and then she demanded to cook for us whether we needed to eat or not. Aunt Josie loved children most of all. She gave her all to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made sure her nieces and nephews always received funds at Christmas to give our children gifts. I will miss so much about her, but most of all I will miss her hugs which she gave out so generously. Aunt Josie was a Catholic Christian with every breath of her life. She was full of faith, but not the faith of piety at church services and mass, but rather the expressive living piety of loving and hugging every one she encountered. James Gajewski, MD, MACP
