Betty Houck

Betty J. Houck, 89, of Reiffton, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018, in Reading Hospital Tower Health. She was the widow of Richard Houck who passed away January 25, 1996. Born in Exeter Township, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Eva (Rothermel) Boyer. Betty was a member of St. Lawrence Women's Club and a member of Community UCC where she was member of the Memorial and Altar committees as well as a church Elder. She worked as a fundraiser for the Tuburculosis Association and was the owner and operator of Houck's Delicatesen at Kissingers Market. Betty is survived by two sons: Jeffrey R and Douglas R. both of Reiffton and one daughter Cynthia A. wife of Allan J. Hussmann of Mohrsville. Betty is also survived by grandchildren Bradley and Randy Houck, Deanna Helwig wife of John and Allan Jr., as well as great grandchildren John and Amber Helwig and many nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by sisters Pearl and Dorothy and brother John. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with services beginning at 7:00 pm in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave, Reading Pa 19606. Interment will be held on Friday November 30, at 10:30 am in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Rd. Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community UCC Memorial Fund, 3330 St. Lawrence Ave, Reading Pa 19606. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
