Gene I. Kohl, 88, of Sinking Spring, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019, in his home. He was the husband of the late Jacqueline M. (Shuker) Kohl whom they celebrated 68 years of marriage. Born in Alleghenyville, he was the son of the late John and Edna (Blankenbiller). Gene was a graduate of Govenor Mifflin High School and Penn State University and was a member of Lincoln Park United Methodist Church- Shillington. Gene was a proud member of the United States Army during the Korean War where he was the Fifteenth Infantry Regiment Sergeant First Class. Gene was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was an Operating Engineer for Berks Products for over 50 years. Gene is survived by one son Gene M. and one daughter Deborah Humma, both of Sinking Spring; two grandchildren, Joshua M. Dyckman, Pittsburgh, Caitlin S. Williams wife of Joshua, Boyertown; grand daughter-in-law Shannon Dyckman, Shoemakersville; and one great granddaughter Amelia. He is predeceased by two brothers Marvin, John and one sister Edna Shamble. Services and Interment are private.
