Obituary

Mary Jane (Bechtel) Mosser, 87, formerly of Oley, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, in Country Meadows, Wyomissing. She was the wife of the late William F. Mosser, who passed away July 23, 2019. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Florence (Kiehl) Bechtel. Mary Jane was not an adventurous person but was the first family member to purchase a snow mobile. Mary Jane loved traveling with her sister and brother in law to visit lighthouses down south and visiting Jekyll Island. Her favorite trip was to Yellowstone National Park in 1976, where she and her husband enjoyed snowmobiling. She loved dogs, horses and Nascar, especially Bill Elliott. Mary Jane worked at the Oley Legion Diner and the Oley IGA. She was a very nurturing person, leaving jobs to take care of family members in need. Mary Jane is survived by her daughter Bonnie Maurer wife of Terrance, Alsace Twp., and grandson Jesse husband of Allison, Fleetwood. She is predeceased by her sister Anna Mae Lengel and brother Harold P. Bechtel, Sr. A private graveside service will be held at Aulenbach Cemetery. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.LutzFuneralHome.com

So sorry to hear of Mary Jane's passing. Our family got acquainted with her at Country Meadows where our father currently resides. In speaking with her we found out that her husband's grandmother lived up the street from our mother and father's home in Mt. Penn. We have fond memories of Helen as we used to visit her "spring house" on hot summer days for cool drinks of water. We enjoyed chatting with her. She will be missed. Allen and Laurie Dawkins

Bonnie: Sorry to read about the loss of both your "'mom and dad" in such a short time. Over the past years Sally and I had many occasions that we shared with them. They will be remembered by the few of us that are still here.

My heart is with you, Bonnie, at this time. I still remember chatting with your mom at the IGA, catching up on your whereabouts! She was a kind, sweet woman. I am sure she will be greatly missed. God bless you and your family.

Thanks Pat. Before moving to CM, she made daily visits to Weis and seeing the locals. She would always inform me of classmate sightings
