Obituary

Kenneth L. Reider Sr., 89, of Reading, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, in his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Mae (Hussnatter) Reider. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Edward and Edna (Templin) Reider.

Ken was a proud member of The United States Navy, serving as an Engineman Second Class aboard the submarine tender USS Bushnell. His most proud and memorable tasks were preparing the Grumman-built Apollo Program Lunar Landers and Space Shuttle wing sets for shipment. He retired in 1990 and moved back to Reading with Mae to enjoy their retirement years.

Ken is survived by his sister Eileen A., wife of Russell Miller, Mohnton; children Kenneth L. Jr. husband of Jill; Reading, Susan C. wife of Michael Wade; Ijamsville, MD, Thomas A. husband of Julie; Leonardtown, MD. He has four grandchildren Katherine, Gregory, Matthew, and Jessica. Ken is predeceased by his siblings Alma M. Conrad, Alfred L., Jacob G., Edward Reed, Donald E., Russell T., Charles B., Winfield D., and Mitchell E. Reider.
