David Sonon

David Sonon, 85, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, peacefully at his home in Exeter Township. David was born on August 31, 1935 to the late Ralph and Miriam (Ecks) Sonon in Reading, Pa. He married Dorothy (nee Waszkiewicz) on May 31, 1958. They were married for 41 years until her death in March of 2000. He later married Judith Frazier, Exeter Township, with whom he celebrated 21 years of marriage.

David graduated from Reading High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He then had a lengthy career at Bell of Pennsylvania followed by Conestoga Telephone. David was an avid golfer; he also loved to travel, and boat on the Chesapeake Bay.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his two children, Kelley wife of Randy Cox of Wilmington, DE, and Meryl Sonon of Park City, UT. Step-children William husband of Lauren Salvatore, and Mark Salvatore. He is also survived by his brother Daniel and his wife Judi of Pittsburgh, grandson Taylor Davis of Gaithersburg, MD, and step-granddaughters Arianna Salvatore, and Alessandra Salvatore.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00 am in St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter, PA 19606. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Autism Society, 4340 East-West Hwy, Suite 350, Bethesda, MD 20814.
