Nadine S. Fasig

September 1, 1950 — July 23, 2022

Nadine Fasig, 71, of Shillington, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, in Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, on September 1,1950, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Elizabeth (Swavely) Fasig. Nadine was a graduate of Exeter High School class of 1968. She was employed at Sheetz in Leesport where she made many wonderful relationships with her co-workers she appreciated. Nadine was a true animal lover from the time she was a little girl, and her father ensured she had the variety of animals during her childhood so she could say she had that kind of animal. However, even if it was for only a day before he had to return it to the fair one time.

Nadine was a devoted and selfless mother to her daughter. She provided the guidance by example of strength, resiliency, and independence as she raised Sherrie. Nadine shared recently with her daughter that she was her biggest accomplishment in life, but it’s truly a reflection of the exceptional mother she was to her. Although, her grandchildren Julian and Gavin were her whole world. She loved them beyond measure and was so very proud of them. There is no doubt she will continue to watch over them as they continue on their life journey as the protective mother she has always been.

Nadine is survived by her daughter Sherrie Torres, widow of Rich Torres, along with her grandsons Julian and Gavin Torres of Exeter, and her brother Darryl Fasig of Leesport. She was predeceased by her former husband and life long friend Craig Gilbert.
