Christopher Gofus

October 14, 1969 — January 14, 2023

Christopher Gofus, 53, of Perkiomenville, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in Pennsylvania Presbyterian Medical Center. Born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late R. David Gofus Jr. and Janet (Moyer) Gofus,of Boyertown. Chris was a member of the graduating class of 1988 from Boyertown Area Senior High School. He went on to earn his Associates Degree from Berks Technical Institute. Chris was a long standing football coach with the Boyertown Youth Football organization, as well as an assistant football coach at Boyertown Area Middle School East. Chris used his deep rooted passion for the game of football to teach countless children not only how to play the game, but also used his platform as a coach to shape them into young, upstanding citizens of the Boyertown community. He taught many life lessons to the young athletes he mentored that they will carry with them throughout their lives.

In addition to his mother, Chris is survived by his son Max, and his two step-daughters, Lauren and Graisyn Schmidt. He is also survived by his brothers, Bryan, husband of Amanda and Jeffrey Gofus, husband of Emily, as well as Max's mother, Andrea Schmidt. Chris will be remembered by the many athletes he coached throughout his life, as well as the community in which he had a positive impact.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, details will be provided as soon as possible.
