Alan D. Ross

Alan D. Ross, 68, of Douglassville, PA, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024. He was the husband of Michele H. (Hughes) Ross. Born in Franklin, NJ, he was the son of the late David G. and Barbara L (Dixon) Ross. Alan graduated as valedictorian from Franklin High School in 1974 and Summa cum laude from Albright College with a BS in Accounting in 1978. He founded Alan Ross & Company, Certified Public Accountants in 1985. Alan is a continuing Education Instructor for AICPA and PICPA as well as an adjunct faculty at his Alma Mater. He is a member of St. Paul's U.C.C., Douglassville, serving on several committees. Other organizations Alan was involved with are LeTIP, a business networking group, where he served as Treasurer, Friends of the Exeter Police Department, treasurer for Breast Cancer Support Service, was the past President of the Reading Chapter of PICPA. He also previously served in leadership of Boy Scout troop 597, was the past President and School Board Director of Daniel Boone Area School District, and also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Albright College and Berkshire Bank.

In addition to his wife, Alan is survived by his children; Kyle R. Ross, of Norristown, and Kelsey E. Ross, of Philadelphia. He is also survived by his siblings; Linda Ricker, Robert Ross, Dana Ross, and David Ross.

Alan was very involved in his children's sports and musical activities where he would coach or help as a band parent. He loved to travel, garden, and take walks with the family dog, Sasha. He'll be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and for always having candy on hand. Alan was an accomplished businessowner and intensely devoted to his profession. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed spending time with loved ones, and always had a fresh pot of coffee brewed. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and clients.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA, 19606. A service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 beginning at 11:00 am at St. Paul's U.C.C., 1979 Weavertown Road, Douglassville, PA 19518. Interment will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 12:00 pm at St. John's Cemetery on Cemetery Hill, Ringtown, PA 17967.
