Marie M. Bechtel (Schell)

Marie M. Bechtel, 88, of Reading, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014 in her residence. She was the widow of Charles E. Bechtel, Jr. who passed away January 25, 1971. Born in Palmerton, she was a daughter of the late James and Katie Schell. Marie was a member and was very active with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church-Reading. She was a homemaker most of her life and was the president of the East Reading Pool Ladies Auxiliary. Marie is survived by: One Son: Rickie L. Bechtel husband of Debbie of Muhlenberg; One Daughter: Judith A. Bechtel of Reading; One Grandson: Troy Bechtel husband of Kimberly of Sinking Spring and Five Great-Grandchildren: Breah, Garrett, Taylor, Morgan and Emily. She was pre-deceased by a granddaughter Tina Strickler and three sisters: Eva Mendsen, Emma Williams and Angie Owens. Friends may call on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 9-10 A.M. with services following at 10:00 A.M. in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. Mount Penn. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
