Billie Jean Buckland

Billie Jean Buckland, 49, of Mt. Penn, passed away on September 28, 2023. She was the wife and “Babe” of Edward Buckland with whom she shared 28 years of marriage. Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of Michael Hill of Virginville, Diana Care-Schollenberger of Birdsboro, widow of David.

Billie Jean was a graduate of Pottstown High School. She spent her career working as a teacher with autistic children in the Muhlenberg School District, as well as providing personal at home care as a caregiver for many years. Above all, Billie Jean’s family was her priority she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

In addition to her husband, Billie Jean is survived by her two sons, Austin and Tanner Buckland of Mt. Penn, her sister, Stephanie Macri, wife of Nathan, of Exeter, and her grandson Parker.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 5 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Lutz Funeral Home, 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606.  A celebration of Billie Jean's life will be announced at a later date.
