Lloyd C. Bitting

Lloyd C. Bitting, 90, formerly of Mt. Penn, passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 in the Keystone Villa-Douglassville. He was the widower of Ida C. Bitting who passed away April 23, 1999. Born in Mt. Penn, he was a son of the late Claude R. and Florence R. (Schweitzer) Bitting. Lloyd was a World War II veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was employed by Prudential Insurance Company for 15 years and then became the owner and operator of Bitting Insurance Agency in Mount Penn for 20 years, retiring in 1990. Lloyd also managed several local bingo halls, most recently at the Downingtown Farmers Market. He is survived by: One Brother: Delbert Bitting of Reading and several nieces. He was pre-deceased by his brothers: Garvin and Claude “Fats” Bitting. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with services beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2015 in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Mt. Penn.
