Finally reunited with his bride and youngest son, Earl Winfield Blatt, 96, of Exeter Township, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Doris J. (Bobst) Blatt. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Earl Reuben and Florence (Phillips) Blatt. Earl graduated from Muhlenberg High School and was immediately drafted into World War II where he proudly served his country in The United States Army. Earl was an industrial electrician for over 50 years until his retirement from Firestone and was a former member of Schwarzwald U.C.C Consistory. Earl loved taking care of his home that he built in 1955 and resided in until his passing. In his younger days, he was a sportsman, hunting with his beagles and fishing. In his later years, he spent his time watching sports and being with his family.
Earl is survived by his son Jeffrey A. Blatt(Jodi), his grandchildren; Nicholas(Bonnie), Zachary(Christine Catalano), and Christopher(Becky). He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Riley, and Reagan. Earl was predeceased by his son Jerry M. Blatt, and his siblings; Joseph Victor, Kerry Loring, and Audrey Lou Gaugler.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606. Interment will be at Belleman's Church Cemetery, Mohrsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
