Mary Borell

Mary H. Borell, 97, formerly of Wyomissing Hills, lastly of Laureldale, passed away on Monday, September 10, 2018, in Berks Heim Nursing and Rebilitation surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip J. Borell, who passed away on January 7, 2006. Born in Reading, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Bronislaw and Josephine (Kompa) Kulak. Mary graduated in 1939 from Reading High School, was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C.C. and was a former volunteer for the American Red Cross. She enjoyed camping vacations, family dinners and was an avid reader. Mary worked as a sales person for John Wanamakers and then Bon-Ton, both at the Berkshire Mall, until her retirement. Mary is survived by her children: Cynthia A. Bennett wife of Barry of Laureldale, Lisa A. wife of Gregg Gault of Whitfield, Maria P. wife of David DeTurck of Exeter Township and Dr. Christopher W. Borell husband of Beth of Whitfield; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She is predeceased by siblings: Geneva Latze, Helen Sroka, Cecelia Feeg, Kathryn Kulak and Bronislaw Kulak. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday September 17, 2018 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:30 am in St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 2810 St Albans Dr, Reading, PA 19608. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ignatius Memorial Society using the address above.
