Benjamin L. Bowers

Benjamin L. Bowers, 66, of Exeter Township, passed away March 8, 2013 in his residence. He was the loving husband of Vicki L. (Lantz) Bowers with whom he celebrated 44 years of marriage. Born in Homestead, PA, he was the son of Calvin B. and Mercedes E. (Besselman) Bowers. Ben was a member of many different organizations which include: the Serra Club where he served as past president, St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C., Cursilla and A Day With Jesus. He also coached many basketball, soccer, softball, swim teams as well as the past president of the Twinbrook Swim Club. Ben was also a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force, the valedictorian in high school and a gradu ate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s degree. He was the director of engineering at Wanamakers, Woodward & Lothrop and more recently the Vice President of facilities for Boscov’s. Ben is survived by One Son: Benjamin “Matt” husband of Erin of West Reading, Two Daughters: Adrienne E. Bowers of Ellicott City, MD and Shannon M. wife of William Hutchison of Seaville, NJ. and the very proud Grandpa of nine Grandchildren. He is also survived by One Sister: Hilda E. Sconzo wife of James of Oklahoma City, OK. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 12th, at 11:00 am at St Catharine of Siena R.C.C. 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter Township.
