Rodman B. "Rocky" Burkhart, 89, of Exeter Township, passed away, Sunday, December 17, 2017 in Pottstown Memorial Hospital. He was the widower of Catherine Joan (Kintzer) Burkhart who passed away October 7, 2008. Born in Exeter Township, he was a son of the late Vernon and Cora (Walker) Burkhart. Rocky was a United States Marine Corp Veteran of World War II. He was a life member of the Reading Motorcycle Club and the AMA. His passion was fixing and restoring antique motorcycles. He was a motorcycle racer, having raced at Daytona, Langhorne, Reading Fairgrounds and other numerous track locations. Rocky worked as an operating engineer while the construction of the Glenn Canyon in Arizona was taking place. He then returned to Pennsylvania and worked for Bethlehem Steel at Grace Mines. Rocky is survived by one daughter Rhonda Soth of Hallandale Beach Florida, one step son Robert W. Fields Husband of Debra of Jacksonwald; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was pre deceased by a step daughter Barbara Schutter. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm with services beginning at 6:00 pm in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc 2100 Perkiomen Ave Mt. Penn.
