Donald J. Campbell, 97, of Reinholds, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022 in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mildred (Weand) Campbell. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Daniel and Emma (Christ) Campbell. Donald loved hunting, fishing and traveling. He was the last surviving Charter Member of the Running Deer Association since the 1950's. He was also a Charter Member of Pikeville Rod and Gun Club, Life Member of East End A.C. and Cushion Peak Gun Club, Longtime NRA Member and was a true Philadelphia sports fan.
Donald was a manager for the Sunoco Station in Adamstown for 27 years and then worked as a motor vehicle mechanic for Bell Telephone for 19 years. He was the last mechanic before the split.
Donald is survived by three sons; Daniel R. Campbell Jr., husband of Tammy of Sinking Spring, Patrick J. Campbell, husband of Robin of Bernville, Kevin S. Campbell, husband of Jennifer of Lock Haven, three daughters; Brenda K., wife of Anthony Fresco of New Port Richey, FL, Joyce I., wife of Douglas Egan of Mohnton, Kim A., wife of Kimball Klahold of Bernville and twelve Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. Donald is predeceased by one daughter, Donna J. Campbell.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm with services beginning at 12:30 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading PA, 19606. Interment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of past family members.
