Margaret A. Cappel (Wingle)

August 7, 1920 — August 6, 2016

Margaret A. "Peg" (Wingle) Cappel, 95, beloved "Nanny" and friend to all, passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior while at Reading Hospital on Saturday, August 6, 2016, just one day shy of her 96th birthday. Born August 7, 1920 in Cressona, PA, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Martha Esther (Reed) Wingle. Peg was the wife of the late Charles W. "Bill" Cappel, Sr. who passed away September 14, 1986 with whom she shared 47 years of marriage. She was a 1938 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and was retired from Willson Safety Products. In addition to her husband, Margaret was pre-deceased by her son, Charles W. "Buff" Cappel, Jr. and four brothers, Thomas, William, Leo and David Wingle. She is survived by her two granddaughters, Lori L. (Cappel) wife of Kenneth V. Grauer and Christine L. Cappel fiancee of Steven Kruszewski; four great-grandchildren, Sara Margaret (Hartline) wife of Derrick Kasprzewski, Taylor T. Hartline, Lauren M. Grauer and Logan W. Grauer; one great-great-granddaughter, Mia Kasprzewski as well as her daughter-in-law, Pauline L. (Gierschick) Cappel all of whom lovingly cared for her in her beloved home. Peg loved and cherished her extended family and is also survived by nieces and nephews; Carmen (Wingle) Knoblauch, Patricia (Wingle) Brachman, Debra (Wingle) Esposito, Dennis Wingle, Rose (Wingle) Fisher, Nancy (Wingle) Greenwalt, Leo Wingle, Mary (Wingle) Linder, Randy Wingle, her cousin, Elizabeth "Betty" (Wingle) Rhein and her longtime dear friend, Shirley Kaupp. Margaret, affectionately known as "Nanny Cappel", loved people and was beloved by so many. She made friends everywhere she went and could make a friend out of a stranger in a minute. She was a devoted member of St. Catharine of Siena Church and felt so blessed by and thankful for all the prayers, cards and visits from the members and Eucharistic ministers during her final years at home. Her presence will be missed here on earth, but we now have a special angel watching over us. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016 in St. Catharine of Siena Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606. Friends may call from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Berks Encore, 40 N. 9th Street, Reading, PA 19601 or St. Catharine of Siena Church, 2427 Perkiomen Ave. Reading, PA 19606. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc.
