Lester C. Care, 74, of Robeson Township, passed away Monday, December 16th, 2013 in his residence. He was the widower of Janet E. (Aulenbach) Care who passed away January 9, 2008. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Harry and Helen (Jones) Care. He was a member of St. John’s U.C.C – Gibraltar. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and country music. He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr., and the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. In his early days, he was a shortstop playing softball for the Monocacy Indians. His favorite hobby was his grandchildren. Lester was employed by Birdsboro Casting then Birdsboro Steel as a molder and later became a landscaper for Percy Brown Nursery in Gibraltar until his retirement. Lester is survived by: One Son: Jeffrey A. husband of Michele of West Lawn and One Daughter: Crystal L. of Birdsboro; Four Grandchildren: Kayla, Ashleigh, Derrick and Jason; Two Brothers: George husband of Linda of Geigertown and Ralph of Florida and One Sister: Sara widow of Charles Ehling of Gilbertsville. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 21st, 2013 at 10:30 am at St. John’s U.C.C. 57 St. John’s Road Birdsboro, PA 19508. Friends may call at church from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery–Gibraltar. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John’s U.C.C.
