Margaret Chilton

Margaret C. Chilton, 76, of Reading, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Manor Care Sinking Spring. Born in Stony Creek, she was a daughter of the late Lester A. and Nora H. (Shumaker) Chilton. Margaret was a 1958 graduate of Mount Penn High School and a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included online shopping, watching soap operas, especially the Young and the Restless, as well as reading books and magazines. She always looked forward to weekends and Saturday lunches with her son. Margaret was a claims processor for Travelers Insurance from 1960-1974 and then later was in sales for Tom Davis Carpet Care last working in 1989. She is survived by her son, Richard C. DeLong of Montoursville, Pa and her sister, Helen V. Peiffer of Ashburn, VA. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 10:00-10:45 a.m. in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Mount Penn, PA followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606.
