Lorraine Christel

Lorraine Christel, 84, of Reading, passed away Monday, February 3rd, 2014 in Zerbe Sisters Nursing Facility-Narvon. She was the wife of Donald R. Christel. Born in Ephrata, she was a daughter of the late Ruth (Shiffer) Steinmetz Auer and Charles Irwin Steinmetz. Lorraine was a graduate of Ephrata High School in 1947 and she loved to walk, read and garden. She was employed by St. Lawrence Carbonizing Company until her retirement. In addition to her husband, One Daughter: Lois of Reading; Two Sons: Neil of Hyde Park and Kent husband of Sandra of Wyomissing; Three Grandchildren: Carly, Amanda and Megan all of Shillington; One Brother: William Auer husband of Priscilla of Port Treverton. She was also pre-deceased by a grandson Gary J. Christel in 1995. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. with a service following at 5:00 P.M on Friday February 7th, in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc.
