Phillip Compton, 63, of Reading, passed away on Monday, November 9th, 2020, in Spruce Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Qiuyan (Sun) Compton. Born in Lansdale, PA, he was the son of the late William Compton and Jean Compton (Crouthamel). Phillip received his Bachelor's Degree in music history from Susquehanna University, and went on to receive his Master's Degree from Temple University. He was an accomplished artist, working with oil paint and other various mediums, some of his work can be found on www.phillipcompton.com. Phillip also worked as a piano teacher and organist, teaching music and touching the lives of his many students. In addition to teaching piano, he was also an accomplished musician. He was an organist at the Episcopal Church of Bangor in Caernarvon. Phillip was invited on three separate occasions to conduct Christmas Choral music in the East Room of the White House for the president's specially invited guests.
In addition to his wife, Phillip is survived by his brothers: Michael and William R. Compton, Jr., and his sisters, Jane Hager, Joanne Michael, Robin Rush, and Nancy Loughery.
