Sherry Lynn Courtney (Hiester)

Sherry Lynn Courtney passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the Reading Hospital Medical Center. She was the wife of late John Courtney, who passed away December 13, 1998. He was love of her life. Born March 30, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Carl F. and Ethel (Niethammer) Hiester. Sherry retired from the United States Postal Service in 1999 as manager of the West Lawn Post Office. She was an employee with the post office for 30 years. Previously, she was Window Service at the Gus Yatron. Sherry was a member of Schwarzwald UCC.

Sherry is survived by three sons; Casey Ganster; Edwina, Bart L. Ganster; Nancy and Jason S. Ganster; Fay, as well as two step-children, Karen Meiran and Kevin Courtney. She’s also survived by 10 grandchildren; Paige, Montana, Cassandra, Elliott, Britnee, Bradley, Edge Ganster and Kirsten, Rianna Nagle, one step-grandson Michael Meiran, and three great-grandsons; Giovanni and Emerson Rodriguez, and Braun Ganster. Sherry was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Rauenzahn, and a brother, Carl F. Hiester.

She loved her family and was a good mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

A celebration of life on will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 12 noon to 4:00 pm at Divots, 12 Village Center Flying Hills, PA 19607. Internment will be private.
