Barbara A Cregar (Swavely)

Barbara A (Swavely) Cregar, 81, of Exeter, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023, in The Highlands at Wyomissing. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Cregar, who passed away in 2018. Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Swavely and Miriam Swavely (Reigner) of St. Lawrence. Barbara graduated from Exeter High School in 1960 and was a member of Schwarzwald U.C.C. Barbara was employed as a preschool teacher at Schwarzwald U.C.C. from 1980 until 1992. She then went on to work at Buck Electric from 1992 until 1996. Afterwards, Barbara was employed at ACI Insurance from 1997 until her retirement in 2010. Barbara was also a past Elder at Schwarzwald U.C.C., a Past Treasurer of the Church Guild, Past President of the preschool, as well as a past Sunday School Secretary, and Choir Member. Barbara was also a Meals on Wheels Volunteer since 1995.

Barbara is survived by her two sons Bradley K. of Rockland Township and Brian K. husband of Kimberly of St. Lawrence; three grandchildren. Heather N. Gromlich, wife of Evan, Allison B., and Ashley B. Cregar, as well as two brothers, Steve Swavely, husband of Ann, and Bart Swavely. She is predeceased by her daughter Brandi K. Cregar who passed away in 1986.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with services beginning at 12:00 pm in Schwarzwald U.C.C, 75 Church Rd, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will be at Schwarzwald Cemetery, Jacksonwald. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Schwarzwald U.C.C, 75 Church Rd, Reading, PA 19606.
