Emma M. Culp (Billington)

Emma M. (Billington) Culp, 86, formerly of Lower Alsace Twp., passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020, in Reading Hospital. She was the wife David R. Culp. Born in Lower Alsace Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna (Bieber) Billington. She was a 1951 graduate of Mount Penn High School and was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she served as the Chairman of the Fellowship Committee, Church Council, Usher Deacon, Lectern, Choir Member and Former Treasurer. Emma was the office manager at Berks Respiratory Specialists until her retirement. She enjoyed knitting, counted cross stitch, reading, traveling and doing the Jitterbug.

In addition to her husband, Emma is survived by her two sons: David W., husband of Kathy, Brecknock Twp., Jeffrey L. husband of Lora, Mt. Penn; one daughter Charlene L., wife of Michael Bailey, Exeter Twp.; two grandchildren: Mark M. and Jessica L. Bailey; two step-grandchildren, Eric and Bret Hesler.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 10:00 - 11:00 am in Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1375 Friedensburg Rd, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church at the address above or Mary's Shelter, 615 Kenhorst Blvd., Reading, PA 19611.
