Cynthia (Rachinsky) Salem

Cynthia (Rachinsky) Salem, 65, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Reading Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of Brian Salem, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Hazleton, PA, on April 19, 1959, Cindy was the daughter of the late Henry and Josephine (Mesisca) Rachinsky. She graduated from Reading Central Catholic and spent most of her life in Reading, where she built a beautiful home filled with love and laughter. In recent years, she retired to Boyertown, where she found joy in the simple pleasures of life-rocking on her front porch, taking in the peaceful views, and cherishing time with those she loved.

Cindy was the heart of her family, the thread that connected everyone. She was a devoted wife, a proud mother, and an adoring grandmother. Whether sharing stories, offering advice, or simply bringing people together, she made every moment special. To know her was to have a friend for life-a confidant, a source of joy, and someone who could always brighten your day.

In addition to her husband, Brian, Cindy is survived by her children: Brian Salem Jr.; Dave Salem, husband of Megan; Eric Salem, husband of Kendra; and Scott Salem. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Olivia, Josie, Landon, Cooper, Ella, Lucy, and Griffin. She also leaves behind countless cousins and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with services beginning at 12:00 PM at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. In honor of Cindy's love for bringing people together, a luncheon will be held at Victor Emmanuel II following the service. All who knew and loved her are welcome.
