David Regar

David B. Regar, 84, of St. Lawrence, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2023 at the Reading Hospital. He was the widower of Barbara A. (Hawk) Regar, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Doris B. (Bennett) Regar. Dave graduated from Muhlenberg High School, class of 1957. He attended college at Ursinus and Albright. Dave proudly served his country in The United States Navy during the Korean War. Starting in 1960, he worked in banking and insurance, notably at Security of America Life Insurance (president and CEO from 1980-1993) and Yuasa-Excide, Inc.

David is survived by his sons, Richard C. Hawk husband of Karen, Reiffton; Ronald G. Hawk husband of Lisa, Casa Grande, AZ. David is also survived by his grandchildren; Amanda, Sarah, Kathryn, and Rebecca and great-grandchildren; Jason, Sadie Ann, Isabella, and Wade.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am, with services beginning at 11:00 am in Lutz Funeral Home Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606.
