John A. Didyoung, 90, of Temple, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 22, 2017. He was the widower of Adelaide L. (Youse) Didyoung who passed away May 17, 2017, and with whom he celebrated 70 years of marriage. Born in West Reading, John was the son of the late John J.W. and Elfrieda E. (Boldt) Didyoung. John was a graduate of Reading Catholic High School. He retired as a painter foreman from Berkshire Greens, Inc., Flying Hills. John was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserves with 28 years of service, retiring as Chief Petty Officer. He was a life member of the Temple Fire Company. John is survived by two sons; Frederick J. husband of Elisabeth of Conestoga, Gregory J. of Temple, and daughter-in-law Julie Didyoung of Lititz; Six grandchildren, Jeffrey D., Susan E., Cristina Fisher, Kyle J. husband of Katie, Gregory J. and Samantha L.; two great grandsons Tyler and Evan; one great granddaughter Olivia; one niece Tina Schaeffer, and nephews Tony and Thomas Didyoung; and brother in law Leonard K. Gontkovsky. In addition to his wife, John was predceded in passing by his son John G.; two brothers, Thomas J. and William L.; and two sisters, Caroline A. and Theresa K. Gontkovsky. A graveside commendation and committal will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton, PA, on Thursday, June 29, 2017 following the visitation with the family. Visitation with the family will be at the chapel in Laureldale Cemetery from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M.
