Dixie L. (Harvey) Warmkessel, 88, of Oley, formerly of Reiffton passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Laureldale Nursing & Rehab. She was the wife of the late Richard D. Warmkessel. Born in Pottsville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. Harvey Jr. and Minnie (Rumpf) Harvey. Dixie graduated from Pine Grove High School. She continued her education at Temple University School of Nursing, Wilkes University where she obtained her Bachelor's in Nursing Education, and Temple University where she graduated with a Masters in Education. Dixie was a member, a Deacon, and Elder at Community U.C.C., St. Lawrence. She worked at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center as an Instructor at the School of Nursing for 30 years. Dixie enjoyed reading, outdoor activities, tatting, and her grandchildren.
Dixie is survived by her son Jeffrey Warmkessel, husband of Stephanie, and her grandchildren; Wade Thomas Warmkessel, husband of Gennifer, and Valerie Alane Warmkessel. She was also survived by her great-grandson Lucas Richard Warmkessel. Dixie was predeceased by her daughter Jennifer (Warmkessel) Miller.
Visitation with family and friends will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am at Community U.C.C., 3330 St. Lawrence Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community U.C.C. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
