Donald W. Evans Jr.

Donald W. Evans Jr., 77, of Exeter Township, passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 in the Reading Hospital Medical Center. Born in West Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Donald W. Evans Sr. and Jeanette Rosa (Firing) Evans. Donald graduated from Wilson High School, class of 1965. His first job was selling cars for Herb Motor Co. in Wernersville. He went on to work for Reading Rug company as a salesperson. He was a natural born salesman which led him to his employment with Boscov's Department Stores in 1968. He worked for Boscov's Dept Stores for 45+ years as a sales person, buyer, sr. buyer, and a merchandise manager retiring in 2014. Due to his passion for the industry he continued to work part time for Mattress Tech up until his passing.

Donald is survived by his ex-wife and supporter, Janet Fay Evans, his children; Scott David Evans, husband of Emily Riddle Evans, and Stacey Lynn (Evans) Zbyszinski, wife of Derek William Zbyszinski. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Presley, Chandler, M. Whitfield, Tristan, Amber, and Krista, as well as his sister Linda Susan (Evans) Maurer and brother-in-law Woodrow I. Maurer Jr.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am at Lutz Funeral Home Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606.
