Donald B. Whitney Jr.

Donald B. Whitney Jr., of Blandon, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia M. (Mazurkiewicz) Whitney. Born in Bristol, PA, he was the son of the late Donald B. Whitney Sr., and Katherine C. (Carl) Whitney.

Don was a graduate of Abington High School and Drexel University where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Finance. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from November 1952 to October 1954. Don worked in the banking industry beginning December 1958 with Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. He retired from Bank of Pennsylvania in 1995, but continued working part time for Neighborhood Housing Services from 1995-2018. Don was on the Board of Directors for Berks Housing Opportunities and Berks Community Action Program. He was also a member of Owls Sports Club and West Lawn Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his children; Kathleen Schoen, of Blandon, Steven Whitney, husband of Karen, of Douglasville and Michael Whitney, husband of Josie, of Muhlenberg. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Evan, Tyler, Zachary and Alexis. Don also had four great-grandchildren Wyatt, Gabriella, Adelia and Avery. Don was predeceased by his granddaughter Ciara and brother Richard.
