Donna M. (Talarico) Derr

Donna M. (Talarico) Derr, 70, of Alsace Township, passed away peacefully April 14th in her home she shared with her beloved husband Terry Derr of 47 years by her side.

Born in Reading, PA on May 15, 1954, she was a daughter to the late Joseph Talarico and Eleanor (Preskay) Talarico.

Donna was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother. Always going above and beyond to put others before herself. Her family and friends were everything to her.

Her greatest expression of love was through food. She was a dedicated employee for 37 years with the Reading School District's food service, she quietly touched the lives of countless students, one meal at a time. At home, her kitchen was always open, her table always welcoming. No one ever left her house without being offered something to eat-because to her, feeding you was her way of showing she cared. She will be deeply missed by all.

Other survivors include two daughters, Tiffany Ann (West), wife of Richard D. Kline of Alsace Township, and Jessica Marie (Derr), wife of William Kenney of New Hanover Township, Montgomery County. She was also grandmother to Lindsey, Devin, Ryeder, Maddisyn, Liam, Keegan, Elias, Isaiah, and Quinn, and a sister to Joseph Talarico. Donna was preceded in death by sister Annette Talarico and son Neil Derr.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with services beginning at 11:00 AM at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. Interment will follow at Schwarzwald Cemetery, Jacksonwald, PA 19606. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
