Jacqueline L. (Kline) Edmonds, 84, of Exeter Township passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, while surrounded by her family in Penn State Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Ellis John Edmonds, who passed away December 24, 2019. Born in Reading PA, she was the daughter of the late Sterns Kline and Ruth (Kantner) Boyer.
Jacqueline (Lynne) graduated from Muhlenberg High School where she was a proud member of the majorettes. Lynne and Ellis were married in June of 1954 and enjoyed 65 years of blessed matrimony. She is survived by her children, Barbara Edmonds, Cynthia Anders, Deborah Edmonds, Donna Edmonds, Russell Edmonds husband of Mellisa, Lynne Bundens, and Robert Edmonds husband of Mbinya, as well as her 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are her sisters Trudy Weller, Sandra Bricker, Susan Drey, and her brother Scott Boyer and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Josephine Kline.
She enjoyed spending her free time participating in church choir and community chorus, volunteering at the “In His Name” food pantry, and participating in card club with her friends. She was a devout fan of the 76ers as well as any team her children and grandchildren played for. She and Ellis spent their retirement traveling the world on cruises often accompanied by family and friends. Up until the very end her morning routine was rarely complete without a trip to the gym and her nightly routine was never complete without watching an episode of Jeopardy.
Lynne will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by those who knew her. She will be remembered by community members as a devout member of the congregation at Trinity U.C.C. and a caring friend. She will be remembered by her sisters and brother as a source of peace and serenity. She will be remembered by her children as devoted and caring mother who sought to raise kind and compassionate children. She will be remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as both a guiding light in the hardest of times and a playmate in the best of times.
