Edward Bonato

Edward William Bonato, 81, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at his home. Born in New Britain, CT, he was the son of the late Edward Arthur and Dora Frances Bonato. Edward graduated from New Britain Senior High School in 1961, and went on to earn his Associate's Degree from Ward School of Electronics. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves.

Edward was hired as an Engineering Associate at Bell Laboratories in Laureldale and later in associated facilities in Allentown where he analyzed computer chips and integrated circuits using electron microscopes. He kept himself very busy, investing his time in complicated hobbies and projects, such as helping put on the 4th of July fireworks show for the city of Reading, silversmithing, locksmithing, radio Ham(W3DLZ and K1HVS), and satellite dish installation. Edward was incredibly talented with electronics, and enjoyed putting that knowledge to use. He did additional studies at Lehigh University, and received technical certificates in other fields.

Edward is survived by his brothers, Robert Bonato, husband of Lynda, and Donald Bonato, husband of Jean, as well as his nieces and nephews, William, David, Donna, Paula, and Robin.
