Emelea Edwards

Emelea M. "Sis" Edwards, 90, of Mt. Penn, passed away, Friday, April 15, 2016 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the wife of the late William Edwards. Born in Reading she was a daughter of the late Constantine and Pearl (Smith) Mantis. Sis was a proud member of the Berks County Chamber of Commerce. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Cornell Univeristy in Restaurant Management. She was the owner and operator of Crystal Restaurant and Catering on Penn Street in Reading where she became the first caterer in the city. She was a true leader and loved her family. Sis was named after the queen of Greece and was always the Matriarch of the family. Sis is survived by three sons: Peter McGow husband of Sharon of Orlando, Alex McGow Fiancee of Lisa Mills of Schuylkill Haven, Jeffrey McGow of Mt. Penn and One daughter Stephanie wife of Carl Hoffman of Oley. She is also survived by six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 1:30 pm 2:30 pm with services beginning at 2:30 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave, Mt. Penn.
