Erwin W. Notter

Erwin W. Notter, 87, formerly of Mt. Penn, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Mifflin Court. He was the husband of Joan (Beers) Notter, to whom he has been married since 1963. Born in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Frederick and Louise Notter. Erwin graduated from Wilson High School in 1955, and went on to further his education and earn his Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from Lafayette College in 1959. He was employed at Carpenter Technology as a project manager of accounting in the engineering and financial department from 1959 through 1999. Erwin volunteered at the American Institute of Industrial Engineers, Society for the Advancement of Management, and Junior Achievement. He served as Chairman at the Mt. Penn Municipal Authority, and was a past member of the council at St. Luke's Lutheran Church and Parish Council of Christ & St. Luke's Lutheran Churches. Erwin was a member of Renewed Spirit Lutheran Church.

In addition to his wife, Erwin is survived by his son Jeffrey Notter, and his daughter Ann Stimmel, wife of William. He is also survived by two grandsons, Albert Jeffrey Notter and Colton William Stimmel, and one sister Anita (Notter) Grimm. He was preceded in death by his sister Elsie (Notter) Bivona.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with services beginning at 11:00 am in Renewed Spirit Lutheran Church 449 N 9th Street, Reading, PA 19601. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Renewed Spirit Lutheran Church at 449 N 9th Street, Reading, PA 19601.
