Claire M. Fessler

Claire M. Fessler, 87, of Lower Alsace Township, passed away June 4, 2015 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center. She was the widow of Elmer G. Fessler who passed away September 23, 2003. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Allen M. and Kathryn M. (Koppenberg) Schweitzer. Claire was a 1945 graduate of Central Catholic High School and was a member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was a member of the choir. She was the financial secretary for the Lower Alsace Fire Company. Claire was employed as a clerk for the City of Reading for 23 years, retiring in 1991. She is survived by: Four Daughters: Carol Ann Rieger, Claire M. Rieger, Diane M. (Rieger) wife of Michael Flammer and Susan M. (Rieger) wife of Mark Faust all of Reading; Three Grandchildren: Michael, Jeannine and Amy and Four Great-Grandchildren: Nicholas, Kayleigh, Emma and Brayden. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League P.O.
