Leroy J. "Bud" Fick

Leroy J. “Bud” Fick, 86, of Pennside, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 in the Mifflin Center. He was the widower of Jean (Avanzato) Fick who passed away March 11, 1989 and was the companion of Grace Lengel.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Leroy and Marguerite (Wadlinger) Fick.
Leroy was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1946 and was a player for their first football team. He was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C.-Mount Penn where he was the former assistant Scout Master for Troop 358. He was a MP in the United States Army serving in the Philippines. Leroy was a MIG Welder for Dana Parish Division for 39 years, retiring in 1987.
Survivors include: One Son: Daniel J. Fick husband of Cory of Shillington and One Daughter: Diane J. wife of James Faso of Drexel Hill; Five Grandchildren: Cortney, Kelsey wife of Brandon Seidel, Cameron, Sheadan, and MaKenna; Siblings: Rita Frymoyer, Helen Hollenbach, Irene Auman, Michael Fick and Eugene Fick. He was pre-deceased by his son: Rev. David J. Fick in 2006 and his siblings Mary Rundle, Anthony Fick, John Fick and Charlotte Katzenmoyer.
Friends may call from 9:00 AM-10:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 in St. Catharine of Siena Chapel 2427 Perkiomen Ave. Mt. Penn. Burial will be Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Twp., PA. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 498 E. Bellevue Ave. Reading, PA 19605. Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. Mount Penn in charge of arrangements.
