William J. Flamm, Sr., 92, formerly of Lower Alsace Twp., passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 in Keystone Villa at Fleetwood. He was the widower of Rose (Calabrese) Flamm who passed away October 8, 1999.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Paul A. and Margaret (Maurer) Flamm.
William was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. Mount Penn. William served as the past president of Reading-Berks Industrial Management Club, past president of the Glidden Retirees and was the past secretary/treasurer of Berks Materials Handling. William was the Superintendent for the Warehouse & Shipping at Glidden Co. for 28 years retiring in 1984. He is survived by Two Sons: William J. Flamm, Jr. of Ruscombmanor Township and Michael C. Flamm of Coopersburg; Four Grandchildren; and One Brother: Clifford Flamm of Crestwood. He was pre-deceased by his brothers: Paul A. Flamm, Jr. and Joseph Flamm and his sisters: Elizabeth Kantner and Geraldine Brobst.
Visitation with the family will be held from 9:00-10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in the Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. 2100 Perkiomen Ave. Mt. Penn. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 A.M. in St. Catharine of Siena Chapel 2427 Perkiomen Ave. Reading, PA 19606 Entombment will be Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Catharine of Siena R.C.C. at the above stated address.
