Frode Nordhoy

April 18, 1934 — July 16, 2024

Frode Nordhoy, 90, of Exeter Township, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in his home. He was the husband of the late Anne (Fjeldstad) Nordhoy, who passed away in 2018. Born in Namsos, Norway, he was the son of the late Knut and Karen (Wiik) Nordhoy. Frode graduated from Olso Katedralskole High School and obtained his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway before moving to the U.S. in 1959 to pursue his graduate degree in business.

Frode is survived by his children: Tom Nordhoy, Erik Nordhoy, husband of Suzanne, and Kari, wife of Douglas Stenberg. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Maren, Madeline, Adam, Annika, Amelia Nordhoy. He was preceded in death by his brother Knut Nordhoy.

Having grown up in Norway and just after marrying wife Anne in Oslo in 1958, Frode embarked on the next stage of his life's journey and moved to the US in 1959. He then attended MIT's Sloan School of Management in Boston, MA where he received his master's degree. From there, Frode and his wife Anne moved around with their growing family as he worked at a number of jobs within the petrochemicals industry in the 1960's. A series of job postings took him and his family to Pennsylvania, Florida, New York and, finally, Hong Kong where he was transferred to in the early 1970's when he worked for Exxon Chemical.

Frode and his family moved back to New York in 1973, where he co-founded a venture capital firm, before bringing his family to Reading, PA in 1975. In 1977, Frode founded Strategic Analysis Inc. (SAI) which provides a range of strategic consulting and business intelligence services to clients in different industry sectors worldwide. Over the years, SAI has grown into a major global business consultancy with hundreds of employees and offices in the Americas, Europe and Asia while retaining its global headquarters in Reading, PA.

Frode's ever-present optimism and positive outlook combined with an indomitable spirit and "old school Norwegian" toughness characterized his amazing life's journey. His tireless energy, whether in the board room, or on the tennis court or ski slope, enabled him to live a rich and unique life, which positively affected the lives of so many family, friends, and colleagues over his 90 years of life.
